Here at Willows Care Home, we have been overwhelmed by our local community’s magnificent response to our plea for good wishes ahead of World Kindness Day last month.

Since the appeal went out in the our local newspaper, the Romford Recorder, our postbag has been literally bulging with letters, postcards, drawings and poems sent by concerned readers. Their kindness has put a huge smile on the faces of residents who, like everyone else, have not enjoyed living through another national lockdown.

Claudia Ramsamy, our home manager, is delighted with the massive morale boost for residents.

She says: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the Romford Recorder and its readers who have so generously given up their time to write or draw for our residents. We have made a wonderful display of all the lovely messages and drawings in our reception area. It is a beautiful and visual reminder that we live in such a kind and caring community.”
