One of our residents, Peter Eustace, is honouring the NHS in his own special way, by painting and sketching.

Peter, who grew up in nearby Ilford and spent his working life as a plasterer, was inspired to paint nearly 20 years ago after watching someone being sketched on a TV programme. After that he painted most days until, sadly, he developed Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He’s now constantly on oxygen and finds painting tiring. Happily, though, he can still enjoy it for short periods of time, and he’s produced some lovely paintings and sketches as a tribute to all those working in the NHS and also in care.

He says: “I find painting and drawing very therapeutic and I’m especially keen on flowers. I also wanted to show how much I appreciate the great work done by the NHS and all those in social care.”
