We’re delighted to announce that Gail St Juste-Alcide has become home manager here at Willows Care Home, while former manager Claudia Ramsamy moves over to manage one of our sister homes, Mayflower Care Home in Gravesend.

Gail is an experienced nurse and clinical manager, born to a Guyanese mother and a St Lucian father in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. After qualifying, she worked on St Lucia for several years before migrating to the UK in 2005. She cared for residents in various nursing homes – in Norfolk for seven years and in London for over a decade. In 2022, shortly after the pandemic, Gail came to Willows as clinical manager, working hard to oversee, the nursing staff in providing person-centred care in line with CQC standards, mentor new staff and support Claudia. Now, as manager of the home, her immediate priorities are to focus on maximising the quality of care and concentrate on staff training.

“Willows is such a cheerful place where the staff know each other and work well together. That is so important, as good teamwork and a happy working environment help us to provide the first-rate care that residents deserve,” she says.

Gail’s new appointment comes just a few weeks after she received a Chief Nursing Silver Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Health and Social Care, while Willows Care Home received a Chief Nursing Silver Award in recognition of its own impact on the sector. The awards were presented in person by Professor Deborah Sturdy OBE, the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care.

Away from the home, Gail spends time with husband Marius, who has his own removal company, and their two sons. She also enjoys cooking, shopping, sightseeing and travelling.
