Various Shifts Available (12 hour shifts)
Nurses adopt a ‘hands on’ approach to all situations and oversee, supervise and prescribe the highest possible standards of physical and psychological nursing care when on shift.
As a nurse, you will work weekly contracted hours, as mutually agreed with the clinical manager/nurse – team leader, on a rota system including at weekends and during public holidays. To be successful in the role, you will be a fully qualified RGN or RMN with a valid PIN registration.
You will also be able to work both independently and as part of a team, have effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate caring and supportive behaviours towards residents, their families and your colleagues.
The nurse’s role centres on providing person-centred care for residents, including administering prescribed drugs and treatments and working to help residents achieve optimum independence while maintaining their dignity and self-esteem. You will encourage residents and families to participate in the planning and provision of care, and you will contribute towards the writing of care plans and reports, implementing changes when outcomes do not meet care plan goals. Another important aspect of the role is to assist in palliative care for terminally ill residents, ensuring that everything is right for both the person at end of life and their family.
As a nurse, you will run the staff as part of an effective nursing care team, while implementing national care standards related to the home’s philosophy of care, CQC standards and appropriate legislation.
