Good CQC rating for Willows
We are delighted to announce that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has assessed Willows Care Home as ‘Good’ following an unannounced inspection on 21 December 2020. The inspectors focussed on two key areas, safe and well-led, and we received a Good rating in those two areas, unchanged since the last inspection in April 2019.
During the recent visit CQC inspectors spoke with residents, staff and relatives. “Staff were kind and compassionate towards people in the home. There was a positive and open culture and discussions were held with people and relatives to obtain their feedback,” they said.
The residents they spoke with commented on the level of care at the home, with one saying, “It’s a lovely home and I feel very safe”. A relative told them that the home is “Very safe”. Their family member, who has dementia “has always been well cared for” and they are “happy and feel safe” at the home.
Staff who were interviewed provided positive feedback about the management style, saying they felt well supported by the management team. One said, “We care for our residents like we would our family. It has not been easy with Covid, but we have all worked together.”
Commenting on the report, home manager Claudia Ramsamy says: “This is a real tribute to our staff who have worked so hard to support residents and keep them safe during the pandemic. We would like to thank them all for their fantastic dedication and excellent teamwork.”
“We are determined to build on our achievements and are still aiming to attain an ‘Outstanding’ rating!”
