Equal Arts, a leading creative ageing charity, has been supporting creative events inspired by and including Willows’ own Artful Willows group. The group comprises residents and staff who have been taking part in all sorts of activities and community projects associated with the Equal Arts organisation.

The Artful Willows group has taken part in fun weekly activities including ceramics, printmaking, and theatre, which have so far delivered a diverse learning experience bringing pride and enthusiasm to the group members.

Another really exciting aspect of the project involves the group being guided by a range of local artists to transform their very own stories into art.

Residents among the group say they enjoy the community spirit and will be sharing their newfound knowledge of the ‘interesting ways to make art’ with friends, family, and local schools.

Equal Arts has agreed to organise the project, thanks to generous funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, who aim to sow the seeds of community spirit, with Willows Care Home right at the heart.
